About this deal

The project started in 2011 when we interviewed a number of technology-dependent children and families from across the country who were benefitting from person-centred approaches. Molly wormed her way into my heart as I celebrated her successes, cried with her at her heartbreak, held my breath when she was in danger, and took pleasure in her joy. with the underlying implication being that anything less would mean we’re leading a rather dull, uninspired life. We then got the paint out and experimented with other ways of using art to create symmetrical butterfly shapes! Molly reflects back on her life and alongside her you see some quite extraordinary things that she achieved, and things that she witnessed.

But her socked feet misjudged the two hundred year old staircase and she clutched her little teacup to her chest as if her life depended on it - it had been her grandmother's teacup - as if protecting it was of greater importance than any attempt to protect her aged bones. No disrespect to those at the table, but they weren’t the kind of people I wanted to be with — people who judged you based on what you accomplished in life. We can let go of ambition and simply show up every day to be and to do our best and if that’s not enough, then so be it. The novel takes you back to England during World War 2, a time period I have always been fascinated with. Will she be able to find peace―and finally understand that what seemed to be an ordinary life was anything but?

We are conditioned by the world to seek status by way of getting top grades and to compete with others (never mind the learning), having a private education, a fancy job (where we pride ourselves on working 60-plus-hour work weeks), and accumulating stuff in our lives. We follow Molly's extraordinary life through the ups and downs of love, friendships and family in a time of war. As we learnt yesterday, caterpillar eggs come in various shapes sizes, some are tubular in shape, some round and others oval, so in this project we make a caterpillar egg and the turn it into a caterpillar. I was initially drawn to this book for his historical fiction aspect but it's the easy contemporary style that leaves you feeling emotive.Mark 1 cm down from the inside line of the small rectangle and 1cm up from the inside line of the small rectangle and then join the dots to the corners of the newly made isosceles triangles to make smaller right angle triangles, like so. Read all Fadhumo and Helen are two refugees seeking sanctuary, one in Tel Aviv and one in Berlin, each coping with discrimination, otherness and a life away from home.
