About this deal

You can also review the Cuttlebug Sandwich Guide by Personal Diecutting to find out how to position the Plates and Mats with dies and embossing folders from different brands.

I know I could use the embossed image on just part of my card, but honestly this is not worth the expense.I have several friends who love theirs, and they are able to use the cutting plates from other machines (ie Sizzix and QuicKutz). Attempting to cut through materials that exceed this height may result in incomplete cuts and may negate the machine’s warranty.

I used a set of compasses as an tool to etch the surface of the acrylic, also using a little sandpaper in areas to create further tone. It's just disappointing that I couldn't use it on my crafting cause it does not fit with my empress machine but it's not the seller's fault. I’ve had the Cuttlebug for a few months now (and, yes, there are more projects on the way) and there are a lot of things to like about it. The B Plates - Cutting, A Plate - Spacer, and C Plate - Adapter (sold separately) are different thicknesses so that you can mix and match. The Cuttlebug surface area is 6” wide, but if you are using longer dies, you will also want to get the longer, 6” x 13” Plates or Mats. Here you will find most of scrapbooking, card / jewelry manufacturing and eventually in other craft hobbies! The different spacer plates also make the Cricut Cuttlebug machine compatible with most leading folders and dies — so you can save money and use the dies and folders you already own. It's my first time using a die cut machine so I may have dented the sheets but it still works perfectly! While you can use your Cricut Explore or Maker to emboss (just check out this tutorial by Clever Someday to find out how), embossing with the Cuttlebug is very straightforward.

I used a small off-cut piece of recyclable sheet acrylic , and drew my design onto it using a permanent marker. With all of this technology in my hands, why would I be interested in checking out the (relatively) “old school” Cricut Cuttlebug? With the dies, embossing folder, Plates, and Mat that come in the box, you are ready to make your first project… sort of.

It’s very easy to pack it up, set it up, and carry it to your latest craft event, even without a special tote or a car. The roller is easy to use, simply put your die cut or embossing folder in the opening and use the handle to turn and move the die cut or embossing folder forward till it comes completely out the other side. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. The Cricut Cuttlebug machine works with the entire line of Cricut embossing folders and cutting dies to emboss a wide variety of materials. There are very easy-to-follow instructions as well as a tool to attach the handle; it is very simple. Cuttlebug loves the materials you love, freeing you to cut and emboss from a wide range of crafting materials. A clear window on the spine lets consumers label the binder when storing on a shelf, and the handle and a luggage tag allow for portability when consumers are on the go.
