About this deal

I guess to sum this all up into a final question for us to discuss is, What can we honestly do when we all will end, when we know everything will end? Yeah I haven’t read any overwhelmingly positive reviews so far but I loved Falling Into Place so I really do want to give this one a shot.

Melissa finds herself in her own online morass after her tone-deaf posts of early cherry blossoms win her ire as the world collapses, and she keeps up a steady opioid consumption while painting herself as a victim of online bullies. However, philosophy aside, from an evolutionary standpoint all living organisms have a strong will to survive and possibly for no better reason than that organisms with a lesser will to survive are now extinct.Didrik is a 40-year-old media consultant whose misguided efforts to become the family hero render him a pathetic vision of masculine incompetence. The book pretty much reminded me of everything I didn’t like about Paper Towns when it came to the characters. This is most likely for two reasons: I know someone very similar to Janie and I could see some of myself in Janie as well. It’s like I know that the writing is exquisite along with the story but there’s just something lacking.

Another theme throughout the novel is the human tendency to accept current circumstances and just endure. Family dies(like all of us), family can leave you like anyone else, and family can just not accept you for who you are. Didrik , a father of three and media consultant, finds that his misguided efforts to be the hero that saves his family only make things worse. Discuss her evolution and how the circumstances she faces contributes to the person she turns into by the end of the book. The von der Esch family—father Didrik, mother Carola, teen daughter Vilja, little brother Zack, and baby Becka—evacuate their summer house in Dalarna as global warming–generated wildfires rage out of control. Yet readers also see the yearning for love and wells of compassion hidden beneath his self-protective exterior. André is the nineteen-year-old loser son of an international sports star who uses the erupting violence around him to orchestrate his own personal vengeance on his negligent father. Major characters and major storyline would likely be resolved at or near the end, though, because they’re probably plot-centric—and that's also what readers are looking for.
