About this deal

Gorillaz have always been as much about the visuals as they are about the music, and the autobiography will be a feast for the eyes. Visually stunning and you can tell so much thought has gone into the design - extra little touches, like the gold foiling under the dust jacket, make it worth every penny for anyone who likes the Gorillaz, Jamie Hewlett or top notch design work. Very well-preserved, light wear to jacket edges and corners a little bumped due to storage otherwise VG bright and unmarked. numerous illustrations; inscribed by: Damon, Hewlett and Cass; pale grey pictorial d/j with black title to front and spine. Initially an iTunes exclusive, one part was released every week for four weeks beginning 4 December 2006. The book details the life-stories of the band-members: Murdoc Niccals, 2-D, Russel Hobbs, and Noodle. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. The original idea for the book was to be a compilation of all press interviews with Gorillaz from phases one and two.

Even if you haven't paid much attention to Gorillaz (or if you have no idea what, exactly, they are), I still strongly recommend getting this book. As a long time fan of Gorillaz, I enjoy watching, listening, and reading anything they come up with. The book blends fact and fiction throughout, interspersing commentary from the band members with actual quotes from their creators, collaborators and critics. The book explores their origins, their loves and hates, they're issues, victories, writing lyrics, creating videos, collaborating (with the ppl that actually took part in creating the band), photo shoots, romances, affairs, hauntings etc, arguing and discussing every thing while showing pictures of them every step of the way.

The dust wrapper is in very good condition, bright, with two teeny closed tears and slight creasing to the top to the front.

Signed by Cass and Hewel, with the original fake library pouch~~VG+/VG 1st ed 2006 hardback, unclipped DJ. It covers the band from 2000 and their first EP, Tomorrow Comes Today through their 2006 tour ending at the Apollo Theater. Featuring brand new art from and designed by Jamie Hewlett, this is the full story of Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel Hobbs for the first time. With track by track analyses of their two albums, all of their performances, and even a section on why '23' pops up so much, this is a must have book for all REAL Gorillaz fans. Bits like this help you enjoy this book twice as much as if you would only see it as one or the other. My only wish is that they would release the book with added info, since Plastic Beach came out afterwards. If it won't get re-published (which I hope it will) with the addition of Plastic Beach story this may turn into quite the collectors artifact! An audiobook of Rise of the Ogre was released in four parts; making it the first audiobook in the world to be released in a singles format. Rise of the Ogre is the autobiography of Gorillaz, written by Cass Browne and illustrated by Jamie Hewlett and Zombie Flesh Eaters.
