About this deal

We link primary sources — including studies, scientific references, and statistics — within each article and also list them in the resources section at the bottom of our articles. They make the book seem tacky to me, and it doesn't look like a picture book with much substance, to me. There are several conditions that can cause a frequent urge to pee, and they all have different treatments, so it’s important to get properly assessed by a doctor if taking simple steps at home hasn’t helped.

Sue Hendra has done it again, this book is absolutely BRILLIANT, and certainly rivals my favourite 'Supertato'.The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal.

Some people might already know they have a condition that affects how much they pee, like reduced kidney or heart function.

If the doctor rules out a UTI or finds signs of cancer during a physical examination, they may suggest further medical procedures to determine what is causing the person’s symptoms.

It's a situation everyone finds themselves in and an inner-battle situation especially kids known too well. It’s important to know that getting into the habit of going to the toilet as soon as you get the urge can actually make things worse, as the bladder never fully fills and it loses its tone. One of my favourite pictures is of the queue outside the toilets, where there is a motley assortment of characters all doing that wonderful 'i need a wee' expression! It's a common problem and seeing a GP can be the first step towards finding a way to effectively manage it. Some of the possible causes lead to short-term urinary incontinence, while others may cause a long-term problem.

If a person frequently needs to pee but little comes out when they try to go, it can be due to a urinary tract infection (UTI), pregnancy, an overactive bladder, or an enlarged prostate. The symptoms for all these cancers can be similar to other urinary tract conditions, so it is important to speak to a medical professional if urination issues arise. Forgetting to drink all day then getting thirsty in the evening might also lead to needing the toilet more during the night – this is known as nocturia. A variety of medications can treat OAB, but a doctor will first need to rule out a urinary tract infection (UTI) and cancer before starting treatment. I personally prefer more in picture books, but children don't need every book they read to teach them something. Some drinks in particular can give you a strong, frequent urge to pee – caffeinated drinks like coffee, tea, energy drinks, and even cola can make you need to go more often. Many chronic health conditions, like diabetes, kidney failure or prostate problems, can affect how frequently you need to pass urine. Having read it, there's not a huge deal of substance, but it's a fun, amusing read children will get a kick out of. A urinalysis is simply a urine test that checks to see, among other things, if there’s bacteria or an infection in your urine.
