About this deal

In 1858 Gray published the first edition of Anatomy, which covered 750 pages and contained 363 figures. Keen edited the next two editions, namely: the New American from the Eleventh English Edition (September 1887); and the New American from the Thirteenth English Edition (September 1893). The American medical drama Grey's Anatomy (2005–present) is a play on words referring to both the textbook and the name of the series' lead character. This 41st edition has been meticulously revised and updated throughout , reflecting the very latest understanding of clinical anatomy from field leaders around the world.

Gray's Anatomy', the renowned classic anatomical book by Henry Gray was first published in 1858 and is considered by many to be one of the most iconic and significant medical books of all time. Tubbs has authored and edited over 40 books and is the editor-in-chief of the journal Clinical Anatomy.

My review is of the Barnes and Noble leatherbound edition which is, I believe, a facsimile of the tenth edition, therefore not the current edition used in the medical field. I'm not a doctor, which is why I'm writing this: part of Gray's appeal is that it's readable by anyone who wants a better understanding of anatomy if they're prepared to put in the effort. In Bette Bao Lord's 1984 book " In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson", Shirley Temple Wong and her new friend Emily secretly look at the "naked people" in Gray's Anatomy. After more than 150 years of continuous publication, Gray’s Anatomy remains the definitive, comprehensive reference on the subject, offering ready access to the information you need to ensure safe, effective practice.I work in the medical field and I have always had a fascination of how the human body works and is built. This combines to unlock a whole new level of related information and interactivity, in keeping with the spirit of innovation that has characterised Gray’s Anatomy since its inception. The 41st edition also has 24 specially invited online commentaries on contemporary anatomical topics such as advances in electron and fluorescent microscopy; the neurovascular bundles of the prostate; stem cells in regenerative medicine; the anatomy of facial aging; and technical aspects and applications of diagnostic radiology.
