About this deal

It copies some trekking features from other Osprey backpack designs while still being a travel-focused backpack overall. In my opinion, the Porter also has terrible shoulder straps, while the Farpoint’s are very comfortable.

Should you find any defect in the way your pack has been built, we will repair or replace it without any charge, within its reasonable lifetime. Whether you’re travelling abroad or packing around the UK, the Women’s Fairview 55 will provide all the storage and convenience you need. This is the major improvement on the previous edition (as well as the new more comfortable harness). The Farpoint 55 and Fairview 55 are essentially the same product; the only difference is that the Fairview is a women’s specific version. The new colours also add to its appeal and the choice of three different sizes make the Fairview accessible to most travellers, offering a 40 litre size for shorter trips and carry-on only enthusiasts, and the 55 and 70 litre versions for longer backpacking adventures. Inside, there are dedicated storage compartments for valuables, including a scratch-free tech pocket, a laptop compartment, an ID card holder and a key clip. If I choose to go carry-on only, then I could think of a 40 or 45-litre backpack that is officially a carry-on size. The Fairview has established itself as the go-to piece of luggage for travel adventures, and now it's more sustainable than ever. While the straps and hip belt are well-padded and comfortable, and the back panel is very breathable, the weight distribution of this pack is a bit wonky.

As with most female specific backpacks, the shoulder Yoke is narrower to provide a more comfortable fit for women. Durable fabrics in high wear areas combine with smart design to create a lightweight and durable travel pack that will last a lifetime. The Farpoint 55 Trek is ideal if you’re looking for a bag that you can use for travel and potentially for trekking as well. To resolve your query efficiently we use a claim form and case / ticket system, complete the form, add all the details required, and we'll get straight on to sorting it out. So the new pack simply uses the compression straps to secure it and then relies on the straight jacket outer material to grip it into place. Timescale to deal with your claim - for technical faults or repairs we use the services of the original manufacturer or nominated agent for inspection, testing and high quality guaranteed repairs. I see what I suspect is the new version on the European site – does this seem to be the new carry-on compliant version at https://www.

The straps are also very comfortable even after a very long day of hiking and the bag also features a sternum strap. The Osprey Fairview 55 backpack has a lot of great things going for it but after a year of travelling, I do not think it’s the right backpack for me. The Fairview is your go-to travel pack when you need something tough, portable and practical to carry your kit. Of course, I found a solution by getting a few little bags so there’s always a solution, but having some pockets on the outside of the bag would just be so much nicer. The other side of the hip belt also has a fabric loop so you could attach a torch with carabiner or similar. There are a few drawbacks and some ambiguities that come with the size and lack of organization, which I will mention in the cons section – but there’s no doubt that the Osprey Fairview 55 packs very well and weighs very little. I can’t tell if my mind is soup from reading so many reviews in the last 42 hours, or if it was indeed changed with the newly released line. That is almost the largest carrying capacity in our test suite and the combo of that and its relatively low weight give it the best volume to weight ratio in our review.
