About this deal

Complication in a nutshell is (I will GP come back to it in detail later when requured) is that I need to take the car with me for a visit to my home in The Netherlands this Friday and will as such do 1000-1500 miles in two weeks.

Park’s of Hamilton (Townhead Garage) Limited, Douglas Park Limited, and Park’s (AYR) Limited, are Appointed Representatives of Park’s of Hamilton (Holdings) Limited, of 14 Bothwell Road, Hamilton, ML3 0AY, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a credit broker.I recently took the car to a BMW/German cars specialist (not dealer) for full service, everything looks great.

Ok well I will tell her to tell BMW no to the nox sensor change and take it out for a good old ragging In a few days when she is back and report back. I've now taken the car to a proper BMW dealer for a diagnosis on the engine light coming on and I'm a bit baffled.

Park's of Hamilton (Holdings) Limited, along with its three Appointed Representatives, Park's of Hamilton (Townhead Garage) Limited, Douglas Park Limited and Park's (Ayr) Limited are authorised to conduct insurance mediation activity. The adaptions are learning values that the engine control unit learns too to account for component wear and driving style. Also i have the latest Inpa just bought it a few weeks back my last was out of date for the latest BMWs, do i also need Ista to code the NOXEM or just Inpa.

My parts and labor warranty ends on the 13th of December so it will be tricky to get costs back and also the car could give out during my holiday which will f**k it up tremendously but then at least I have irrefutable proof the car was faulty from the start and a higher chance of getting a refund under the Consumers Rights Act. I reset the engine warnings and it was ok for a few weeks, then kept coming on - so replaced the sensor and reset the adaptations, and all was fine. Other than that, it's a case of unscrewing it out of the exhaust and disconnecting the cable connection.Of course, it is also possible that the owner of the car (or the user of the car) also decided to keep silent regarding the unsuccessful maneuver to avoid unexpected costs. I just came of the phone with them and they said 'it's the fuel pressure sensor and every other fault codes follows from here'. I used them a couple of times for a few of my cars, and they seemed straight enough about what the issues were.

To cause permanent damage to the wires, the temperature should reach several thousands of oC, which means – their conductor (metal) should start to melt. Come join the discussion about performance, modifications, classifieds, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more! The past week this has now been backed up by an engine warning light coming on and the engine being even more restrictive until i can pull over and turn off the ignition. Either a) exhaust camshaft sensor has failed and needs replacing (unlikely), b), your timing chain tensioner needs replacing (very likely), or c), your timing chain itself has stretched (possible). Unfortunately, the days of an experienced mechanic listening to a cars engine and diagnosing the faults are almost extinct. There can be several reasons – increased oil consumption of the engine, some fuel additives, water in the exhaust, and some mechanical contamination. When you say white smoke, how much are we talking, and when does it happen (ie: when the car is cold or hot, etc)?
